TJX criminals are rounded up

September 15th, 2007 by admin Posted in Credit Card Fraud

tjx.jpgA friend of mine, Gary Warner, has all the details on arrests made from the TJX credit card hack. This was the largest credit card compromise in history, with over 45m cards reportedly exposed. We also recommend you also read the Hack Report for more details.

Last week the media lit up with speculations that 24 year old Ukrainian hacker, Maksym Yastremskiy, who had been arrested in Turkey on August 2nd, may be behind the TJX Credit Card hack. The Boston Globe’s Ross Kerber may have had the best coverage with his story “Suspect
named in TJX credit card probe”
on August 21.

With the police slowly rounding up all the criminals it should send a strong message to those who choose to commit this kind of fraud.

Since both Roman Vega (formerly of Boa Factory) and Maksym are both Ukrainian nationals it shows that major credit card hackers are strongly focused in that region.
