PCI Europe Conference 2007

December 6th, 2007 by admin Posted in Conferences, Europe

The PCI Europe conference is happening for the first time in 2007.  I am not there but know some friends who are attending.  I’m curious to hear about it so please post content in the comments.  I haven’t seen any blog posts about it, other than from the attending vendors.

The conference went very well, over 240 delegates, ample networking opportunities and a great foundation for the future. We allready working on regional PCI Europe seminars taking place throughout the spring of 2008, see the website for further updates: http://www.pcieurope.com

    Best,
    Lucas

    PCIDSS Awareness:

As a QSAC prospecting for business in Europe we still find a huge lack of knowledge on the topic. Even if you perform desk research you can identify companies who based on their description of Services are processors but have never heard of PCIDSS. We are convinced that the only way compliance with the Standard can become “real” and widespread is better enforcement from Card Schemes and Acquirers. If this is the story among PSPs what must the situation be like among level 3 and 4 merchants who can self-assess !!
