Lib de Veyra new Chairperson for PCI SSC
February 2nd, 2009 by admin Posted in Card Brands, PCI SSCToday the PCI SSC named its new Chairperson for a term of the next 12 months. That person is JCB’s own Lib de Veyra. I’ve known Lib for a number of years and have only positive things to say about him and his work. Lib has been at JCB for over 15 years and worked in a number of different capacities there. Now he represents the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) as the face behind the name. I look forward to seeing him at the annual ETA meeting in Vegas this year.
Prior to Lib, the council was chaired by the following people:
- Rob Tourt, vice president, at Discover Financial Services
- Seana Pitt, vice president, Global Merchant Policy and Data Quality, American Express, Global Network Operations
Per the Council’s bylaws, the chairperson is rotated annually among each of the five payment card brands that make up the Council’s Executive Committee: American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc.

Please replace Bob Russo! By now it should be obvious to everyone that he’s completely incapable of managing the PCI SSC.
